‘Pitch’ Star Mo McRae Teases an Anxiety-Inducing Season Finale, Whether He’d Visit the ‘SOA’ Spinoff ‘Mayans MC’

With just two episodes left in Pitchs first season, the drama is being kicked up a notch. Tonight we’ll learn the response when Mike Lawson’s teammates hear that he’s willing to be traded. Blip isn’t happy, obviously, Mo McRae told us when he stopped by for a Facebook Live chat earlier this week. And as for how Ginny (Kylie Bunbury) takes the news, well, McRae reminded us that TV networks can be clever with promos. (So does that mean Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s Mike and Ginny won’t get dangerously close to a goodbye kiss?)

Asked how fans will feel at the end of the Dec. 8 season finale, McRae didn’t hesitate to give an answer. “Oh my God, I think fans are gonna be torn up,” he said with a laugh. “I don’t think you’ll feel at ease at the end. I don’t think you’ll feel like there was a resolution necessarily met. I think it’s gonna create a lot of questions, concerns, fears, anxiety, definitely.”

Watch the full interview above to hear more about what’s ahead for Blip and wife Evelyn (Meagan Holder) now that she wants to focus on a career of her own (“In my personal life, I try to use positive phrasing,” McRae said, “so I will say there are definitely gonna be opportunities for problem-solving, some solution-based thinking in their relationship”); how he prepared for that nude photo shoot on the show (of course, we brought it up); and how he’d compare the fans of Pitch to those of Sons of Anarchy. (“I don’t know if we’ve got any Pitch tattoos yet.)

Considering that his Sons of Anarchy character, Tyler, made it out of that series alive, would McRae be open to popping up on the Mayans MC spinoff should the story allow. (That pilot, we now know, will shoot in March). “Absolutely,” he said. “If Kurt [Sutter] gives me the call and says he wants me to come back, as long as contractually I’m able to do it, I would absolutely love to. The fact that, from what I understand, Emilio [Rivera] will be back — that’s what they’re saying in the trades, I’m not releasing any information, I’m not spoiling anything — as the head of the Mayans, and Emilio is a friend of mine and he’s also a great, great guy.

For me, anytime I get to go and work with people I respect on a professional and personal level, I’m there — and to give more to those fans that are waiting. Because when I’m out, ‘Are you gonna do the spinoff? Are you gonna do the spinoff?’ That’s like the No. 1 question. ‘Are you on the spinoff?’ I don’t know. I hope so. I genuinely hope that I’d be able to participate in some capacity.”

Pitch airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. on Fox.
