Reese Witherspoon Is Super-Excited to Find Out She's Irish

Reese Witherspoon dropped by Conan, where she revealed some exciting news about her ancestry. The actress had recently taken a DNA test and found out on the way to tape the show that she is 63 percent Irish.

Witherspoon was surprised by the new information. “I had no idea,” she told host Conan O’Brien. “I thought I was Scottish and Welsh. It turns out my parents are just full of s***.”

Witherspoon joked that her Irish ancestry makes sense because “I’m a really good drinker, I love St. Patrick’s Day. … Potatoes are delicious.”

Witherspoon is currently enjoying a little “luck of the Irish” as her recently released television mini-series, Big Little Lies, has been well-received. Hopefully her good luck will continue.

Conan airs weeknights at 11pm on TBS.
