‘Sesame Street’ Does a Spot-On ‘Real Housewives’ Parody With Oscar the Grouch and Company
Sesame Street has done it again! The iconic children’s show parodied The Real Housewives in a three-part video series called The Real Grouches of Sesame Street, featuring Oscar, Grundgetta, Garbage Dump, and Grover. Grover may seem like an odd choice, since he’s not very grouchy, but as the cuddly blue puppet put it, “Every show needs the cute one.”
The series perfectly lampooned tropes of The Real Housewives franchise, like hostile dinner parties, tiny purse dogs, manufactured drama, and terrible songs. Sesame Street has successfully parodied the likes of House of Cards, True Blood, Sons of Anarchy, and Mad Men, to name a few. We can’t wait to see which show they set their sights on next.
