‘Star Wars’ Star Riz Ahmed Rap Battles James Corden on ‘Late Late Show’
Star Wars, Girls, and The Night Of star Riz Ahmed dropped by The Late Late Show With James Corden, where he took on the host in a rap battle known as “Drop the Mic.”
Ahmed had a slight advantage over Corden because he actually has a moderately successful rap career. But Corden, being a consummate musical performer, gave the actor a run for his money.
The host rapped, “I know ruining a Star Wars movie is seen as unlawful, but here’s a Rogue One spoiler — in it, he’s awful. Honestly it’s mean to say in Star Wars he stinks, but he made me miss the days of Jar Jar Binks.”
Not to be outdone, Ahmed hit back with, “Yeah I did do Star Wars, bet that made you mad, too bad they weren’t trying to cast Jabba the Hutt’s dad.” And he finished the verse by grabbing some lyrics right out of the latest headlines, saying, “You’re not an M.C., you’ll beg me to let you down gently, I wouldn’t stop this war if Kendall Jenner brought out Pepsis.”
The Late Late Show With James Corden airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on CBS.
