Now batting: No. 1 in The Saviors line-up, Negan, and his amazing bat, Lucille! Though we doubt you’re going to feel like noshing on peanuts and Cracker Jacks when this bad boy and his bat make their debut in the souped-up, 90-minute Season 6 finale of The Walking Dead on April 3.

The leather-jacketed leader’s appearance in the finale has been one of the most anticipated events in TWD series history, and fans were even more excited about his impending entry into the post-apocalyptic world when Supernatural, Grey’s Anatomy, and The Good Wife star Jeffrey Dean Morgan signed on to portray Negan.

But JDM bringing Negan to life will also come with a huge dose of heartbreak. As mentioned in his bio on the back of Yahoo TV’s super cool Negan baseball card, one of his favorite things to do when meeting (i.e. plotting to control) a new group is to kill one of the group’s members, thus establishing how serious he is about getting, and keeping, them under his thumb.

In The Walking Dead comic book, that leads to his greatest, i.e. most disturbing and crushing, hit: He beats Glenn to death with Lucille to prove to Rick and the others that they shouldn’t cross him. It’s this action — and the fact that Jesus revealed Negan also beat a 16-year-old boy to death to terrify The Hilltop residents into cowering to him in the TV show — that has fans worried about what Negan will do when he, and Lucille, meet Rick and his group in the AMC series.

So, tell us, TWD fans: Does the potential death of one of your most favorite survivors temper your enthusiasm about finally seeing Negan on the show? And, given everything that’s happened throughout Season 6, and especially the Daryl-centric ending of last week’s penultimate Season 6 episode, who do you think is most likely to be on the business end of Lucille when Negan starts swinging in the finale?

The Walking Dead Season 6 finale airs Sunday, April 3 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
